Postdoctoral Scholar at UCLA
I am a Postdocoral Scholar in the Department of Geography at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). I am working in Professor Larry Smith's research group
I study hydroclimatoloy, particulary in the Arctic region. Find out more about my work here
The rapid loss of Arctic sea ice has the potential to affect the climate of the northern latitudes, but the exact impacts are unknown. I and my collaborators have examined the 30 year record of satellite observations to study the covariance Greenland ice sheet melt extent and the sea ice extent in the adjacent seas. We found strong covariability in southwest Greenland that could partly be driven by sea ice extent variability. Read the entire paper here.
I have accepted a position as assistant professor in the Department of Geography at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. I will start working there September 1, 2009.
